Dr Daniel Brown is the lead of the Connections Psychology Group, the research arm of the Centre for Relational and Sexual Wellbeing (CRSW). He is also employed as a Lecturer in Psychology at La Trobe University. A clinical psychologist and academic, Daniel’s research sits at the intersection of clinical health psychology and LGBTQIA+ health equity, with a particular emphasis on sexual wellbeing across the lifespan.
Daniel’s research program addresses real-world challenges such as access to gender-affirming care, sexual health post-cancer, and aged care experiences among LGBTQIA+ older adults. His work is grounded in community engagement and co-design, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to drive impact through policy, practice, and education. He has secured competitive grant funding for multiple projects exceeding $200,000, and his publications appear in high-impact journals such as Social Science & Medicine and Psychology & Health.
In addition to his research, Daniel supervises Honours, Masters, and PhD students and contributes to national initiatives in clinical psychology. He serves in leadership roles at the Australian Psychology Society and is an Associate Editor of the journal Clinical Psychologist. His academic and clinical work is unified by a commitment to improving health outcomes for underrepresented and marginalised populations.
Dr Jacob Keech is a Lecturer in Psychology in the School of Applied Psychology at Griffith University. Dr Keech has over 10 years of experience in conducting applied psychological research. His expertise is in the development and evaluation of intervention programs for reducing the effect of stress on physical and psychological health, and performance. Dr Keech has expertise and experience in conducting stress and wellbeing research in a range of contexts including with police officers, lifeguards, school teachers, flood rescue operators, and students. Dr Keech’s research also applies psychological theory to understanding and changing health behaviours and risky behaviours to improve health and safety.
