Psychologist
Hi, I’m Michael.
My work is guided by the belief that every person has the capacity to overcome challenges and lead a fulfilling life. I work with adults whose concerns may involve mental health, health-related challenges, relationships, intimacy, and sexuality, recognising that difficulties in one area can often affect others.
My approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I work to understand each person’s challenges in the context of their lived experience, including culture, identity, relationships, health, values, and what feels important to them. I approach this work with openness and care, particularly when conversations feel personal, private, or difficult to talk about elsewhere.
My clinical experience includes private practice, sexual health services, outpatient pain medicine, community rehabilitation, and clinical research. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Schema Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy to develop an approach that fits each person’s needs.
I have a particular interest in sexual medicine and sexual wellbeing, particularly men’s sexual health, erectile difficulties, changes in desire, and concerns about sexual confidence. This sits alongside my broader work with people of all genders around sexuality, intimacy, relationships, and sexual function.
My practice is sex-positive, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and welcoming of LGBTQIA+ people, people engaged in kink/BDSM or non-monogamous relationships, and sex workers.
I work with adults across a range of concerns, as well as those who are wanting a space to better understand themselves and what matters to them, including:
